James P. Day founded Suncrest on the 1st day of January, 2012.
Entrepreneur Jim Day has launched several companies and has been active in greenhouse (GH) operations for 12+ years. Day spent 30+ years in technology marketing, a career that began at Saatchi & Saatchi in NYC. His agency was engaged in branding and market strategy for mid-size firms and Fortune 500 companies in a dozen industries. Day holds a B.A. in Chemistry and worked on his Ph.D. in Biochemistry before pioneering an interdisciplinary M.S. degree focused on organic agriculture, renewable energy and systems integration.
Dr. Snyder joined the company as a co-founder in April, 2012.
For 30+ years Snyder worked in water treatment, monitoring and resource management. He was a “Principle Scientist” for NASA’s “Microgravity Hydroponic Plant Research” program for the International Space Station and the future moon base. Hisconsulting firm, Gordon Snyder & Consultants, worked with companies and government agencies and is well known for benchmarking water purity. He holds a Ph.D. in Water Quality, an M.S. in Water Resource Mgmt. and a B.A. in Instrumental Chemistry.
Robert B. Day joined the company as a co-founder in January, 2012.
Called one of the “Best Growers in Texas” Day has managed up to 1M SF of wholesale (GH) operations. His career began with Vaughan-Jacklin Seed (Syngenta). Prior to operating his own wholesale flower nursery in Denton, Texas, Day worked with Klepac Greenhouses of Dallas, He holds aB.A. degree in Horticulture from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Edward F. Garth joined the company as a co-founder in April, 2013.
Garth has 35+ years in Finance at the CFO level and VP Administration level with early and late-stage start-ups as well as public companies. He was formerly with Touche Ross and later, the CFO of VentriPoint Diagnostics Ltd. & DI Software Inc. (Formerly, Design Intelligence, Inc.) He holds a B.B.A. Accounting, Eastern Michigan University; M.B.A Courses, University of Detroit.
